Site Management Planning and Management of Conservation Projects for
professionals

3rd to 4th March 2013
Welfare
Association Office in Jerusalem with its regional branch in Nablus, supported
by ICCROM (International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and
Restoration of Cultural Property), UNESCO; and EC organizes series of training
and courses in integrated conservation of architectural heritage. A Course on Site
Management Planning and Management of Conservation Projects for professionals
was organized from January to May 2013. The experts invited by Welfare to take
part in the activities are Gorgio Crocci, Andrea Urlandova, Shadia Touqan,
Yousuf Naches, Mario Santana, and Amra Hadzimuhamedovic.
Amra
Hadžimuhamedović was asked to lecture on the following topic: Management of Conservation Projects,
Maintenance Programmes, Communication skills, Risk Preparednes on March 3rd
and 4th 2013.
The course
aims were to develop a technical platform for the professional training of
practitioners working in the field of architectural conservation in Jerusalem
and Nablus by:
1. Understanding the basic
(international) principles of heritage conservation processes in historic
lived-in environments in order to devise informed strategies for the
conservation of heritage sites;
2. Recognizing methods for the historic
research and evaluating historic buildings in old cities and defining their
significance;
3. Documenting and analyzing existing
material and structural conditions of heritage sites and buildings, diagnosing
causes of deterioration, with particular reference to living environments and
socio-economic conditions in areas of conflict
4. Identifying priorities for appropriate
project management approaches and conservation interventions (including
monitoring and maintenance) at a heritage place.
The
follow up will be in July 2013.
