Ottoman artifacts and foundations (awqaf) in the Balkans, symposium

9-10 May 2012, Istanbul

Amra Hadžimuhamedović has been invited to participate in International symposium on historical Ottoman artifacts and foundations (awqaf) in the Balkans, that was held on 9-10 May 2012 in Istanbul, Türkiye.  Amra Hadžimuhamedović was invited as an official guest and not as the symposium  speaker.

This international symposium was hosted by the Prime Ministry Directorate General of Foundations in cooperation with the Prime Ministry Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities with the intention of evaluating historical, juridical, social and economic dimensions of Ottoman Foundations (Awqaf) in the Balkans.

The Symposium entitled “Historical Ottoman Foundations (Awqaf) in the Balkans aimed at focusing on the themes as it follows: Ottoman Foundations in the Balkans: Historical Background and Current Situation. Social Cultural and Economic Functions of the Ottoman Foundations in the Balkans, Status of the Foundations in the International Law: Texts, Perspectives and Practices, Legislations and Practices Regarding the Foundations in Balkan Countries, Foundation Archives as the Historical and Judicial Records of Ottoman Foundations in the Balkans.
