Training Course in Conservation and Management
“Conservation and Management of Historical Buildings”
Tunis, Tunisia, between 1 and 12 December 2008
The second part of the International Training Course in Conservation and Management of Historical Buildings, organised by SIDA (Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency) and HDM (Housing Development & Management), was tought between 1 and 12 December 2008. The course was organised in Tunis, Tunisia in cooperation with local heritage protection institutions.
This part of the course focused on the overview of the current situation in the sphere of conservation of the architectural heritage in Tunisia, individual presentations by course attendants concerning heritage protection and management and discussions of the presentations.
The goal of this part of the course was to give presentations and discuss individual papers of each of the course attendants. After attending the first part of the course, each attendant had the task to apply the knowledge acquired during that first part of the course in solving the problems concerning individual sites or buildings.
The site chosen and presented by the Commission representatives in this part of the course was Blagaj – access to the site and possible ways to revitalise the Blagaj čaršija.
The course had 30 attendants from Africa, Asia, South America and Europe.
The representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the course were Lejla Hadžić on behalf of the Cultural Heritage without Borders and Amra Šarančić on behalf of the Commission.
