TRAINING PROGRAM on ITALIAN CULTURE AND TECHNOLOGY ON RESTORATION "ICE-ASSORESTAURO"

Italy, 30 March to 5 April 2008

Upon the invitation by the Italian Minister of Trade and within the TRAINING PROGRAM on ITALIAN CULTURE AND TECHNOLOGY ON RESTORATION "ICE-ASSORESTAURO" Mirzah Foco, Associate of the Executive Officer for the Heritage, stayed in Italy in the period between 30 March and 5 April 2008.

The seminar discussed the topics regarding the application of modern methods and materials in the conservation and restoration of the Italian built heritage structures. On the following sites methods, applied by the Italian conservers, were presented.

1. BRESCIA

2. SIRMIONE

3. SOAVE

4. PADOVA

5. FERRARA

6. RAVENNA – RAVENNANTICA, TEODORICO and the SAN VITALE CHURCH, and

7. VICENZA - OLIMPICO TEATRUM, POIANA MAGGIORE.

At the same time a visit was organized to a Conservation and Restoration Fair, on which occasion we took part in bilateral talks with equipment producers, and particularly with consulting companies that expressed their wish to cooperate in joint projects.
