In 2003 the Commission launched a Campaign for the protection of endangered monuments, with the aim of educating the public on the importance of the heritage for preserving the identity of Bosnia and Hercegovina, and of raising funds for their rehabilitation.
The Campaign includes presentations the most endangered national monuments to the general public by means of an exhibition put on display in Sarajevo, Washington and Palermo. The exhibition had an accompanying catalogue with background information on the work of the Commission and on endangered monuments, and video presentations of the national monuments which the Commission has listed as endangered. Postcards of some of the endangered national monuments were distributed along with preliminary draft projects for the protection of the three most endangered monuments: the bridge in Višegrad, the old fort in Stolac and the fortress in Jajce.
