Meeting on the subject of preparation of nomination for entering of the historical city centre of Mostar the UNESCO World Heritage List
The meeting was held in the Commission’s premises, on 02 November 2004, at 13:00 hours. The meeting was attended by the members of the Commission, and prof. Amir Pašić and prof. Giorgio Gianighian, architect-conservator and international expert form the UNESCO. The theme of the meeting was preparation of nomination for entering of the historical city centre of Mostar the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The Commission presented all decisions adopted by now, which are related to the heritage within the historical city centre of Mostar, and put forward to prof. Pašić and prof. Gianighian the documentation, which should, according to the Commission’s opinion, be accentuated within the nomination material. On that occasion, it was remarked that special attention should be paid to the significance of outstanding natural and architectural ensemble of the historical city centre of Mostar, represented by the trinity of picture, structure and shape. The decision on designation of the historical city centre of Mostar as a National Monument would be submitted to Mr. Ghianghian unabridged, in order to be used while drawing up of materials requisite for nomination for the World Heritage List.
It was resolved that the letter be sent to the Mayor of Mostar (copy to the National Commission for Cooperation with the UNESCO and Permanent Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina within the UNESCO) informing that, in line with the Decision of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Commission was liable to nominate national monuments to enter the World Heritage List, and proposing that, as soon as possible, formal procedure be outlined, as well as the relationships between the Mostar City Administration and the Commission to Preserve National Monuments, for the purpose of the nomination of the city centre of Mostar to enter the World Heritage List.
